Did we miss it?

We arrived in Sarasota, FL to look for a home in a warm weather climate, completely new to the area. Concentrating on not crashing, but trying to keep and eye out for interesting areas, we drove many miles looking for the perfect spot to settle down in.

I drove North to Clearwater Beach and beyond to Honeymoon Island Beach as we explored the Gulf coastline. Later, we went South, and began looking into what it would be like to live in Cape Coral, and the lifestyle in the area. This area is a great place to live and enjoy boating life, as there are many canals where building lots are available and you can have a dock in your backyard. Great for motoring around but, not so good if you grew up sailing in the New England area.

Finally, we settled at a small town a few miles South of Sarasota, but not more than 20 minutes away if we wanted to get back to the city. What I learned was we had passed a real hidden gem, tucked between Venice and Sarasota called Osprey. This little town is another boating area, but instead of canals there is approximately 6 miles of Bayfront real estate between Little Sarasota Bay and the South Jetty in Venice. This makes for a convenient location for boating, and you can stop in at many favorite restaurants, if you feel like getting a bite just by pulling up to their dock.

Osprey, Florida, a hidden gem nestled along the Gulf Coast, offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, luxury living, and outdoor activities.
